The kitchen cabinetry selection is split between ready-to-assemble (RTA) and fully assembled cabinets. You can find cabinets by these four main brands at this time:

Project Source are mid-tier cabinets that are unfinished and ready to be painted or stained. Cambridge and Design House brands are mid-range and above, while Diamond NOW is low to mid-range construction.
You can choose to pick up your order at a local store or have it delivered. The website claims delivery is within seven business days, which is a very short time (especially compared to IKEA’s weeks or months).
If you go with the Diamond NOW line, you can use a free digital kitchen designer to pick and place your cabinets. And if you don’t want to do the work yourself, the store can connect you with a pro to do the installation for you.
In terms of kitchen design, there are seven main styles within the Diamond NOW collection. As you use the online kitchen designer, you can swap out different styles and see which would look best in your home.
CONSTRUCTION
Diamond NOW cabinets are on the lower end as far as construction goes. The top, bottom, and sides are made from particle board, which has some disadvantages. This material is also called furniture board because it’s so popular in affordable furniture pieces.
However, it has less strength than solid wood or plywood and can actually swell or warp with humidity over time. This wouldn’t happen during the first few years, of course, unless you had a leak in your kitchen or your tile countertop wasn’t sealed properly.
Furniture board is also not the best for holding screws. You should be fine using the supplied hardware and pre-drilled holes, but you should be careful if you want to drill your own holes or add fasteners yourself as the board can chip near the hole.
The Diamond NOW line has solid frames and wood drawer fronts and boxes, so that’s good. However, the drawers don’t use dovetail joinery.
Many in-stock styles use full-overlay cabinet doors which completely hide the frame. However, stock cabinets are only available in a framed style, not frameless. You’ll have to go to the semi-custom or custom-made space for frameless construction.
When you move up to Cambridge and Design House brands, you’ll see higher-end appointments like all-plywood construction, six-way soft-close hinges, solid wood doors, and undermount drawer slides.
PRICE
Next on our review is price. While Lowes doesn’t offer dirt-cheap cabinets like some other big-box stores, the Diamond NOW line is still very affordable. Prices for three-drawer base cabinets start at about $200. Remember that this level is mostly fiber board with cheaper hardware.
