I’d like to share a quick tutorial on tuning your TV for freeview. I pulled this from the internet ages ago, kinda lost track of it and had to find it again because my partner has been using my old TV for a few months now, and was finally upgraded to her own flat screen in the same room! Its a good tut, so please dont ignore all just read it.
Freeview manual tuning frequencies
Based on your TV’s model, retune using this table which shows all the channel numbers. The channel number is also called frequency because signals are broadcast at certain frequencies. Select the channel number with the highest signal strength.
Freeview is a free-to-air digital TV service (DTT) provided by the broadcaster, Freeview. It was launched in the United Kingdom in December 2002 on the terrestrial (over the air) digital terrestrial television platform. The service provides consumer access via self-supply or by purchasing and installing an integrated Freeview set-top box. It also features video on demand services, live news, weather, travel info and children’s programming all accessible through your remote control via a smart phone or tablet.
On the left is the guide, with all the channels. You can use this to find the TV programmes you want to watch. The red and yellow bars show you what channel or radio service is currently on air. The numbers on the right are very important. They tell you which channel to tune to for your VCR or Digital TV Receive Unit (DTR) for recording a programme.
